Taking underprivileged youth in urban areas out into nature
Find Out MoreThere exists a large amount of research showing clear benefits of nature’s influence on a child’s development, specifically: cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual development[1][2]. Not all children are able to experience the great outdoors that our nation has to offer, and not all parents and guardians are aware of the benefits that nature has to offer their children. That’s where we come in. Project Nature wants to take underprivileged kids from highly urban areas and provide the means for them to experience the outdoors in a way that would not have been possible for them before. We want them to reap the benefits of the great outdoors and, consequently, create a new generation of people who will appreciate and fight for our nature.
Meet The Team!
Eric Agredo
Hello I'm Eric! I am 23 years old and was born in Florida. I am first generation in this country, since my family is from Colombia. I studied computer science at University of Florida and I am now working as a researcher at MIT. I have loved the outdoors ever since Hurricane Wilma. After thousands of people lost power in South Florida, the light pollution disappeared and I was mesmerized by the sight of stars I had never seen before. That memory sparked it all for me.

Hi I'm Ari! I was born in Peru and moved to Florida when I was 5 years old. I am studying Industrial and Systems Engineering at University of Florida. I will be a process engineer at Gillette in Boston after I graduate in May 2019. My family and I used to go camping in Peru but we stopped once we got to Florida. I got back into camping once I moved to college and fell in love with it again.

Hi, I'm Eduardo! I am 23 years old and I was born in Puerto Rico. I am a writer and a student at Depaul University in Chicago, working on my BFA in Film/TV production with a Directing concentration. My deep admiration for nature fully blossomed when I drove from Miami, FL to Los Angeles, CA, camping along the way. Seeing the diverse and beautiful landscapes that the United States has to offer reminded me that there are things out there bigger than me. It was a humbling and inspiring experience that must be preserved for future generations.
